Rhythm is one of the four key foundations of any musical experience. Here, groups of students learn to find the beat, and create rhythmic patterns, from simple to complex.

Exploring Drums & Percussion

5–7 Years

Exploring Drums & Percussion is a group class experience for children that introduces students to percussion instruments. The class will cover drums, mallet instruments, and miscellaneous percussion instruments, all while having fun and making new friends. Each class will cover basic techniques, and culminate in a performance.

Rhythm Band and Drumline

7–10 Years

11–18 Years

Rhythm Band and Drumline are bands for percussionists. Younger students will play a variety of drums, mallet instruments, and other percussion instruments, while learning a repertoire that ranges from traditional percussion ensemble music to arrangements of popular songs. Older students will play and perform with their fellow percussionists, as well as with their teachers. This class will expand students' knowledge of percussion and improve their proficiency in a variety of percussion instruments, including mallets, hand drums, and auxiliary percussion.
